Born and raised in Indiana (Go Hoosiers!), Victoria earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2006. Upon graduating, she attended Amridge University and completed a master’s degree in professional counseling in 2008. Victoria has experience working with children and adolescents and their families in school and home-based settings and outpatient community mental health. In 2011, Victoria and her family moved to rural Alaska. She provided counseling services to youth and adults in outpatient, village, and emergency services utilizing in-person and telehealth delivery methods.

Victoria’s primary goals are to make therapy services accessible via telehealth and to support the clients she serves as they navigate life situations, overcome trauma and challenges, and manage symptoms of mental illness. She holds a license in mental health counseling (LMHC) in Indiana and a license in professional counseling (LPC) and is a board-approved supervisor in Alaska.
Using a person-centered, holistic approach to counseling, Victoria is dedicated to empowering clients to find within them the answers to the problems they are experiencing. She approaches therapy from a cognitive framework, helping clients identify triggers to negative emotions and working through those emotions to find peace and healing. Victoria has completed Brainspotting Phase 1 & 2 and Brainspotting for Money training. She also has training and experience in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and internal family systems (IFS).

Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska – Anchorage in 2018, Victoria has a passion for helping others develop the stories of their lives into narratives that bring them joy and fulfillment. As a counselor and educator, Victoria realizes the importance of a nonjudgmental counseling environment. In her journey to create a safe, therapeutic place for clients, she practices daily self-care, and unconditional positive regard and offers support and guidance while teaching these values to clinical supervisees.

Additionally, she has extensive behavioral health scheduling, billing, and insurance knowledge. She has experience in clinical and administrative supervisory roles, teaching behavioral health documentation, and many other counseling courses.
