"No Surprises" Act

On January 1, 2022, laws regulating client care were updated to reflect a “No Surprises” act, requiring various provides to provide current and potential clients a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) on the cost of treatment. A summary of this requirement is below.

 

Effective January 1, 2022, a provider must furnish a self-pay patient with the notice and GFE prior to all scheduled services or by request if the patient is shopping for care (and has not yet made a scheduled appointment). This includes, but is not limited to, office visits, therapy, diagnostic tests, infusions, and surgeries. 

 

You qualify as a self-pay patient if: 

  • You are an individual who does not have benefits for an item or service under a group health plan, group or individual health insurance coverage offered by a health insurance issuer, federal healthcare program, or a health benefits plan OR

  • You choose not to use your coverage benefit for a selected item or service.

 

Insurance & Rates

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance plan. We accept Alaska Medicaid and Premera BCBS. Your policy may require a referral or prior authorization from your doctor or insurance provider. Please check your insurance coverage carefully by asking questions like:

 

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

 

We do not accept Medicare or Tricare. 

 

Payment & Self-Pay

Major credit cards and some insurances are accepted for payment. Co-pay, deductible, and other non-reimbursable costs are billed and due at the time a statement is issued. Self-pay fees are due at the time of the appointment.

 

SERVICES & FEES

Consultation (Potential Clients) - 15-45 min: $0
 

Intake & Integrated Assessment (New Clients) - 60-120 minutes: $250

Integrated Assessment* (Active Clients) - 60-120 minutes: $200

​

Individual / Family Psychotherapy (Active Clients) - 45–60-minute session: $175

 

*Integrated Assessment may be repeated every 6 months if needed to re-assess symptoms and redetermine diagnosis and treatment. 

 

The following are three examples of Good Faith Estimates containing a variety of the services available at Lillac Counseling Services, LLC. Following a completed intake and integrated assessment, active clients will receive a detailed GFE that includes the expected cost of individual services and a total expected cost of services for 1 year.  

 

Example GFE - Intake:

Intake & Integrated Assessment 1x at the start of treatment @ $250.00 = $250.00

No other services recommended or client is referred to a different provider = $0.00

Total Expected Charges for 1 year = $250.00

 

Example GFE 1:

Intake & Integrated Assessment 1x at the start of treatment @ $250.00 = $250.00

Individual Psychotherapy 1x each week for 52 weeks @ $175 per session = $9100.00

Integrated Assessment 1x each year for 1 year @ $200.00 = $200.00

Total Expected Charges for 1 year = $9550.00

 

Example GFE 2:

Intake & Integrated Assessment 1x at the start of treatment @ $250.00 = $250.00

Individual Psychotherapy 1x each week for 52 weeks @ $175 per session = $9100.00

Family Psychotherapy 4x each month for 12 months @ $175 per session = $8400.00

Integrated Assessment 1x each year for 1 year @ $200.00 = $200.00

Total Expected Charges for 1 year = $17,950.00

 

Appointment Policy

Your appointment time is reserved for you. In the event you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least a 24-hour notice. Cancelations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.

 

If you develop a pattern (3 or more times) of rescheduling, canceling, or missing scheduled appointments without notice, I reserve the right to terminate the therapeutic relationship. In that case, I will provide you with a warning ahead of time and provide you with referrals.
